Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged students to pursue sports and cultural activities alongside their studies, keep the environment clean and pollution-free, plant more trees and show love and care for animals.
He made the call while meeting students of Puthia Girls’ High School in Rajshahi, Savar Girls’ High School in Dhaka and Tejgaon Mahila College at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today (Thursday).
The Prime Minister encouraged the students to take part in cultural activities such as singing, poetry recitation, drawing and musical instrument practice. He also advised them to practise Qirat.
Highlighting the importance of sports for physical and mental development, Tarique said regular participation in sports helps keep the body healthy while fostering discipline, self-confidence, concentration and teamwork.
He also stressed the need for planting more trees and keeping the environment clean and free from pollution. He urged the students to be compassionate towards animals and take care of them without causing them any harm.
A total of 36 students from Classes VI to X and eight teachers of Puthia Girls’ High School, 50 students from Classes VI to X and four teachers of Savar Girls’ High School, and 46 Class XII students and 11 teachers of Tejgaon Mahila College visited the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
They also observed a session of the Jatiya Sangsad.
