Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on world leaders to work together on the basis of mutual cooperation, empathy and shared responsibility to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In a video message sent to the ‘SDG Moment’ organised by the United Nations, he said yesterday, “We are lagging far behind in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. We now need to take effective measures and work together.”
In his message, the Prime Minister stressed the need to strengthen international partnerships, exchange experiences and undertake collective initiatives to implement the SDGs.
Heads of state and government from different countries also delivered video messages at the event.
It may be mentioned that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will leave Dhaka for New York, United States, next Monday (21 September) to attend the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA-81).
